Trenton Planning Board

The Planning Board is responsible for reviewing development proposals to ensure they meet the Town’s zoning laws, design standards, and long‑term planning goals. New commercial buildings,  Commercial additions/expansions, Change of use (e.g., retail → restaurant), Multi‑family residential and Major exterior alterations affecting layout, parking, or access are reviewed by the Planning Board.  The Board’s role is to help guide safe, orderly, and thoughtful growth within the Town of Trenton.

PLANNING BOARD MEETINGS:

Planning Board Meetings are held on the 1^st Monday of each month at 6:30 PM.  If no projects are scheduled for board review, the meeting will be cancelled.  Check the Town website for cancellation notices. Meetings are held at the Trenton Municipal Center at 8520 Old Poland Road in Barneveld, NY.

2026 Scheduled Meetings:

January 5, February 2, March 2, April 6, May 4, June 1, July 6, August 3, September 7, October 5, November 2, December 7.

PLANNING BOARD WORK SESSIONS:

In addition, the Planning Board has a work session on the 3^rd Monday of the month at 6:30 PM. This meeting is used to do a preliminary review of a project for completeness.  Again, if no projects are scheduled for board review, the meeting will be cancelled.  Check the Town website for cancellation notices.  Meetings are held at the Trenton Municipal Center at 8520 Old Poland Road in Barneveld, NY.
